An annual contest to choose Miss Bikini Beach was the holiday feature at Mission Beach. Five girls competed in the event and 16-year-old Dee Dee Jacobs was awarded 3rd prize. Judges chose 17-year-old Ann DeBenedetti as Miss Bikini Beach in the event sponsored by Health House Gymnasium. Second prize and the award for the smallest waist at 20- and one-half inches was awarded to 14-year-old Alice Emus standing on the left.
They won some pretty groovy trophies.
